If you have space for a garden or a container garden on your porch or balcony you can succession plant lettuce and spinach. In Kansas, we can do this from March through mid-July. It is too hot the rest of July and all of August unless we use UV netting. But we can start up again for September and October. We use lettuce and a ton of spinach in salads, on sandwiches, in soups and casseroles.
